Darin Family

Marco Giovanni Battista Da Rin Zoldan was born on 11 November 1871, in Vigo di Cadore, Province of Belluno in Italy. He arrived in Santos-SP on the 1st day of October 1888 along with his father Antonio, his mother Maria, his younger sister Marianna Da Rin Zoldan and baby-brother  called Francesco Apollonio Da Rin Zoldan.

They settled in the Northern region of the State, in a rural property in the district of São José do Rio Pardo-SP and worked the land. Father and mother died in the first seven years after arriving in Brazil, so only the three of them had a future in the new land.

Marco Giovanni Battista married Erminia Billò in 1896, and had 13 children over a twenty year period. He also bought a farm where he planted coffee, sugar and staple crops. They lived this sort of life for close to 30 years. Then, in 1927, Giovanni thought he was tired of the rural life and decided to sell his Fazenda Apparecidinha or Nossa Senhora D'Apparecida - and headed towards Marilia-SP.
